Is there anyone who will travel to Naas even if its lashing rain and would be able to transport me and my bike? My car engine seized so I have no mode of transport. Its ranked as a Monument in the Leisure Championships 5 points and if you cycle to it and back again youll be over the km mark for the Randonneur Medal. As with all the sportives we welcome anyone who is interested in taking on a leadership role for the day. This will result in an extra 2 points in the Leisure Championship. Youll need to post up here if you are willing to take on this role and meet times etc for the morning alongside some advice for the event itself and naturally on the day youll need to help the group get around it good spirits and finish with a smile We also we love to read reports from the event. Simply write up an event article of at least words with some pics and email Eugene and youll get bonus 1 point too. This is always an all time great sportif to kick start your season. Its traditionally the perfect build up sportif for most heading to do the Wicklow Really doable and enjoyable, lumpy in bits but you will all love it. Ive done this event 3 times in the past few years and view it as must do for the year so I would fully encourage anyone to give it a go. Hi Garret Im registered for the event and more than happy to lead a group or help in any way as required. This is my 4th time doing the Tour de Foothills – always a good event and looking forward to a great day on the bike. Going to go down a little early and get 15km in before and then an additional 15km at the end. Flat Yellow pace for the day. Happy to lead a group of Yellows. You dont have to do the add ons Meeting at 9am for the spin Meeting at 8am for the 15km so we can have a little banter before the spin. Sinead . Hi, Im looking for a lift to this on Sunday, if anyone would be able to bring me and my bike? Thanks Tommy. The Tour de Foothills starts at 9. Registration opens at 8. We expect a large number of Orwell members will be participating so it would be a good idea to form a few groups on the day setting out at white, yellow and orange pace. If everyone who is interested in joining or leading a group could meet at 9. See you Sunday Eamonn. The following user s said Thank You Sinead Kennedy. HI Leonard i am giving Tommy a lift down and we decided to do the 30km before the km so that we can finish with everyone and get back! We are leaving Rathfarnham at am, driving to Naas. Ditch the car, do 30km , then back for registration, cuppa refuel and meet everyone! Still want to come?? Sorry for the late time change. Hi Sinead No problem – Ill opt for the start – hope to see you there! Lets keep the fingers crossed on the weather front. Cheers, Leonard. Great see you then. Tommy has cancelled so I have a spare seat in car if anyway wants to come but I am going down early to make it a km. Its all about the bling! Hi having completed the above today I just wanted to pass one comment. As a newlby Ive always admired the code of the group spirit in Orwell. Not the spirit I thought. The delay was a quick pump not a puncture. Just saying. Just a word of thanks to Paul from Orwell didnt catch the surname who sorted me out with a spare tube yesterday. It did the trick and got me home safely. Hi folks, Great to see so many people out at yesterdays event. One thing that did strike me however was the lack of club kit on some members. With the club getting bigger and bigger every year, its very difficult to know everyone especially so early in the season. Might I suggest that where possible, you show off your club colours in one form or other so that if people get into trouble in any way, a club member can spot you quickly and come to your aid. Thanks John. Hi Just checking! My post ride Gamin data for the km route gives me an elevation gain of 1,m. However, the official data suggests 1,m.
